Lifestyle Choices or Premature Death Choices?
Lifestyle is a word most commonly used to describe the choices we make that may affect our health and well-being. These choices may include the exercise we do or don’t partake in, our food choices and anything that may cause us stress or peace and joy in our lives.
These choices can either be made throughout the day i.e. what meals we prepare or more long term decisions such as the type of work we choose to do or the relationships we choose to be in.
Whatever the choices we are faced with, it still comes back to our own responsibility. How many people in society find it easier to blame others or situations around them rather than facing their challenges and making more enlightened ‘lifestyle choices’.
As we all know, life can be hectic! This can create time pressures which inevitably lead to poor decisions being made for our well-being. Take the time to weigh up your choices. Ask yourself what is the desired outcome from my decision i.e. can I see myself enjoying this career choice in one to two years? What impact will my decision make on me or on those around me? Making a conscious decision requires a level of connectedness but the benefits hugely outweigh the effort required, even for the smaller decisions we are faced with throughout the day.
Remember… Your health, your life. More health, more life!
